POLICY TITLE: MEMBERS RESPONSIBILITY FOR SAFETY

1.0 PURPOSE
Members of the District shall cooperate with other members in an effort to eliminate accidents.
2.0 COMPLIANCE WITH PROVISIONS
Each member of the District shall comply with the provisions, policies, and guidelines of the District and the provisions of WAC 296-305, which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct in the course of his/her employment.
3.0 NOTIFICATION OF UNSAFE CONDITIONS
Members of the District shall immediately notify the Fire Chief or his designee of unsafe conditions, equipment, apparatus, or work place.
4.0 PROPER CARE OF PERSONAL PROTECTIVE CLOTHING
Each member shall take proper care of all issued personal protective clothing in accordance with Policy 2111.
5.0 SAFETY DEVICES
The District shall furnish and require the use of appropriate safety devices and safeguards for all their members. All firefighting methods and operations shall be so designed as to promote safety and health of its members. The District will do everything reasonably necessary to protect the safety and health of its members.
6.0 SAFETY DEVICE PROTECTION
No member shall remove, displace, damage, destroy or carry off any safety device, safety guard, notice or warning, or interfere in any way with the use of any safety device, method or process adapted for the protection of any member.
